Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17, 2026 | 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
In this two-day workshop, participants will create a unified photo-based encaustic triptych while exploring a variety of encaustic and mixed media methods. Students will experiment with applying wax, building layers of color, carving and scraping into the surface, and creating texture. They will also learn two different ways to incorporate their own photographs into the work as they develop three connected pieces that can be shown together or on their own. All materials are included with the $50 materials fee paid directly to instructor.
Participants will work on three 8” x 8” wooden panels that are taped together and treated as one composition during the process. At the end, the panels will be separated to reveal a cohesive triptych.
