Intuitive painting is an exercise in trusting our inner voice through the colors and strokes we choose. When we develop a trusting relationship with ourselves, honoring who we are without judgement, our relationship with the world changes. Perhaps we can approach our lives with more ease once we know that paint can be layered, it can transform, and that it doesn’t need to do or be anything to be beautiful. I believe that we can relax into this sense of ourselves through painting and learn to create with that intrinsic wisdom.

Meet Your Instructor: Ellen Heitmann
Ellen Heitmann spent seven years working as a residential counselor, using art as a bridge to help individuals express and process emotions. Bringing this deep understanding of creativity as a healing tool, she guides students to embrace watercolor as a means of personal exploration and joy. Her approach prioritizes freedom and self-expression over rigid techniques, creating a welcoming space for artistic growth.
Outside of painting, Ellen finds inspiration in nature, where she feels most at peace. She looks forward to sharing this journey with you!
