In this seven-session course, we’ll dive into the art of painting landscapes with watercolor. This class is designed for those who have some experience in watercolor -from beginners to seasoned watercolorists.
Each session will focus on a specific aspect of landscape painting, such as capturing skies and clouds, depicting calm and turbulent water, or portraying the same scene at different times of day.
Along the way, we’ll strengthen the fundamentals that bring a painting to life: the significants of value, applying color theory, technical watercolor skills, and planning your composition.

Instructor bio: Mary McHenry holds a degree in Education and Art History from Skidmore College. After teaching in Spain, New Mexico and California, she spent two decades working as a photographer. Mary now draws on her knowledge of composition, value, and the cultivation of individual artistic style to the medium of watercolor. Over the past 9 years, Mary has dedicated herself to an intensive study of watercolor. Under the guidance of various esteemed artists, she has participated in workshops across the United States. Mary draws inspiration from the many places she has lived, with a particular focus on the vibrant influences of the Bahamas and the serene landscapes of Maine.
