Encaustic Pet Portraits

The Encaustic Pet Portraits workshop is an exciting new encaustic class where participants will explore the art of encaustics and photo transfer using their own pet photographs. This two-day workshop focuses on the unique encaustic technique, which combines heated beeswax with other materials like paint, and pigments to create richly textured artwork on wooden surfaces. Participants will be guided step-by-step through the process of creating an encaustic background and then transferring their photo onto the encaustic surface. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner looking to experiment, this workshop offers a creative opportunity to enhance your photos in a fun, hands-on way. By the end, you'll leave with two one-of-a-kind encaustic pieces featuring your own pet images.  All materials are included with the $50 materials fee.

Important Note for Students at Registration: As this class involves converting and sizing your photographs, Andrea will take care of the printing and bring your printed photos to the workshop on the first day.
