Instructor bio:

Daniel Calzadilla is a Florida native dedicated to preserving South Florida ecosystems and supporting local communities through research, outreach, and engagement. Leveraging a foundation in environmental stewardship and resilience, designing nature-based climate solutions and pollinator-friendly habitats to strengthen ecosystem health. With over 200 community service hours supporting subtropical and tropical wildlife conservation and ecological restoration programs. His hobbies include poetry, cooking, beekeeping, gardening, and mountain biking.

His work as a beekeeper goes beyond the apiary. He uses the platform to advocate for all pollinators and discuss ways to build habitats and support biodiversity. Daniel graduated from FIU in 2018 with a BA in Environmental Sciences and Sustainability and a certificate in Agroecology, and later earned his MS in Agronomy from UF in 2023. He also completed the Apprentice and Advanced levels in the UF Master Beekeeper Program in 2020 and 2024, respectively, and is currently working on the Master Level.

He launched Bee Wranglers in 2019 as a honey bee rescue and relocation service with an education and outreach focus.
