Orchids are often perceived as difficult, but they are actually quite resilient once you understand their basic needs. In this 3-session series, Melana Davison, an American Orchid Society Accredited Judge and nursery grower, shares her expert knowledge in a way that is accessible for everyone from beginners to seasoned hobbyists. You will learn about the most popular varieties and how to help them thrive in our unique South Florida environment. By mastering the five essentials of orchid care (light, water, air, food, and medium), you will gain the skills needed to keep your plants healthy and blooming year after year.
The classes also cover the practical side of orchid health, including how to identify and prevent common pests or diseases. The experience culminates in a hands-on clinic where you will learn the techniques of repotting and mounting your plants. To ensure you can practice what you learn, your fee includes two free orchids to take home: one to repot and one to mount. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from a renowned speaker and gain the confidence to grow beautiful orchids in your own home, regardless of your previous experience.
