Feel the Rhythm with Basilio Marquez Jr. (Braidsman)

Born into a legacy of music in Las Tunas, Cuba, Basilio Marquez Jr. has been living and breathing rhythm since the age of four. Following in the footsteps of his father—a trumpeter for the legendary Chucho Valdés’ Irakere—Marquez became a professional musician in 2007, mastering the art of traditional Cuban music with a modern flair.

Since moving to Miami in 2019, he’s been bringing the soul of Cuba to life, performing across Miami-Dade County, including at the renowned Adrienne Arsht Center. His music is pure energy—blending Cuban son, cha-cha, salsa, and Latin jazz into an electrifying experience that will have you dancing from the first note.
