• Interactive cooking demo designed to delight young food enthusiasts and their families. Each session showcases simple, fresh ingredients and engaging techniques.

12:15 p.m.- Picardo Colour- Limited Seating

• In this fun and engaging painting class, young artists will receive a mini 8"x10" canvas and vibrant acrylic paints to create their own orchid-inspired masterpiece. Kids will explore artistic expression and develop basic painting techniques in a supportive environment. No prior experience is needed—just imagination and a love for art! At the end of the session, each child will take home a one-of-a-kind work of art to cherish.

1:30 p.m.- Fairchild's Million Orchid Project: Restoring Orchid to South Florida, Dr. Jason Downing, Fairchild's Director of Research and Renowned Orchid Biologist (Lecture)

2:30 p.m.- Vanilla Bean Almond Brittle with Bacon, Short Chef (Cooking Demo) - Limited Seating

3:30 p.m.- Kitchen Beauty, Vanilla Edition, Mobile Couture Spa Terri Grimsley (Demo)

This hands-on DIY workshop invites guests to create luxurious body care products, each infused with the rich, natural scent of fresh vanilla beans. Learn about vanilla's history in beauty while crafting eco-friendly products to take home.

Fairchild’s art instructors and students honor the beauty of nature in a fine art exhibition featuring their original works. One of a kind works of watercolor, oil and acrylic paints, and botanical illustrations bring into focus the growth of the artists’ technique and creativity, all while exploring the world of tropical flora.

Fairchild's Orchid Collection and The National Orchid Garden

Fairchild takes great pride in being the home of the National Orchid Garden, the American Orchid Society, and the AOS Library Collection, making our orchid collection one of the largest globally.

Our orchid collection, renowned globally, is not just extensive but also boasts some of the rarest species on the planet. As a testament to our commitment to biodiversity, Fairchild is actively involved in the Million Orchid Project. This groundbreaking urban conservation initiative has already reintroduced more than 700,000 orchids of our 1,000,000 goal!

Be sure to look for orchids throughout the Garden, especially the vining vanilla orchid, from where vanilla beans are harvested!
